Contemporary & Classical
Throughout this five months, students will be systematically trained in areas
pertaining to acting, movement, and the
practice of working across linguistic and cultural boundaries. This includes
work in Acting Approaches, Movement, Voice & Speech, Taiji and Meditation
and the immersions in Theatre Traditions. The objective is to shape, condition
and build the actor’s body and mind into an instrument capable of meeting the
demands of Contemporary Theatre practice. They will be immersed in different
Asian Classical Theatre systems and martial arts as well as the European
theatre tradition.
Everyday classes are different. But they follow a precise order of progression. Teaching method is highly structured. During ten days lesson student’s move along two parallel paths:
On the one hand the study of improvisation and its rules and on the other movement technique and it’s analysis. In my method of teaching I have always given priority to the external world over inner experience. Fine tuning of the actor’s instrument and basic creative tools through the systematic acquisition and maintenance of technique.
